The Problem

Most young rugby players never develop the athlete inside them.

Club training focuses on game skills — not the physical foundation those skills are built on. Speed, strength, balance and coordination are left to chance. Most children arrive at under-13 rugby with years of missed development behind them.

The problem

Club sessions focus on drills and games — there is no structured individual development plan for each child.

RugbyForge solves this

Every child gets their own 48-week programme, personalised benchmarks, and a clear progression path from age 6 to 13.

The problem

Parents want to help but don't know what to do — and hiring a personal trainer for a 7-year-old is not realistic.

RugbyForge solves this

Every session is fully planned, explained in plain language, and designed to be run solo by the child at home — no expertise needed.

The problem

Children lose motivation because they can't see their progress. Training feels like work with no reward.

RugbyForge solves this

128+ badges to earn across 8 levels. Personal records tracked every week. Children see themselves getting better — and they want to keep going.

What is RugbyForge ADS

A complete 8-level development programme. In one app.

RugbyForge ADS is not a rugby coaching app. It is an athlete development system — a structured, progressive programme that builds the physical foundation every rugby player needs before the game-specific skills can truly take hold.

📋
Structured Weekly Sessions
4 sessions every week, 48 weeks per year. Session A: Sprint + Power. Session B: Strength. Session C: Benchmark Day. Session D: Skills + Passing. Every session is fully written out — your child just follows it.
📊
Weekly Benchmark Tracking
Every Session C your child tests and records 6 benchmarks: 10m sprint, 30m sprint, broad jump, T-drill, max push-ups, and plank hold. They see their personal records improve week by week. Progress is visible and measurable.
🏅
128+ Badges to Earn
Each season ends with Challenge Week — your child tests for 4 badges. Every badge has Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers. The badge is theirs. They earned it alone, with you as the witness. That means something.
🏃
Solo — No Team Needed
Every single exercise in every session can be done alone. Sprint tests use a phone stopwatch. Wall passing replaces partner passing. Balance is self-timed. Your child trains on their schedule, not when a team is available.
📈
Age-Appropriate Standards
The programme has separate standards for every age from 6 to 13. A 7-year-old's Gold sprint is not the same as a 12-year-old's. Standards are set for what a well-trained child of that exact age should be able to do — not guessed.
🔬
Science-Backed Exercises
From Nordic hamstring curls at age 11 to resisted sprints and plyometric circuits at age 13, every exercise is chosen for its developmental impact. Full setup instructions and technique guides for every exercise — no background needed.
The Programme

8 levels. 8 levels. One unbroken progression.

Your child starts at Level 1 (age 6) and works through the programme year by year. Each book is a complete 48-week season with its own identity, badge set and physical development goals.

Why It Works

What your child actually gains

Every component of the programme is designed to build one thing: a better athlete. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Real Speed Development
Sprint mechanics, acceleration, flying sprints and resisted sprints are trained systematically from age 6 upward. Your child does not just run — they learn to run correctly, and they get measurably faster each season.
💪
Age-Appropriate Strength
Bodyweight first, then resistance bands, then Nordic hamstring curls at age 11. Strength training for children follows a clear, safe progression — never too much too soon, never wasted years doing nothing.
🎯
Measurable Progress Every Week
Session C is Benchmark Day every single week. Six tests, all self-timed and recorded. Parents and children see the numbers move. Not "he seems faster" — they know exactly how much faster, in seconds and centimetres.
🧠
Self-Discipline and Independence
The programme is designed to be run solo. Your child learns to warm up correctly, count their own reps, time their own sprints and sign their own session card. By age 10 they are managing their own training. That is a life skill.
🏅
Motivation That Lasts
Badges give children something concrete to work toward and to own. Challenge Week is the highlight of every 12 weeks. Children who might skip generic training sessions do not skip Challenge Week — because those badges matter to them.
🏉
A Foundation for Rugby Success
Faster first-step acceleration. Better change of direction. Stronger body contact. More accurate passing under pressure. These are not hoped-for outcomes — they are the measurable results of a child who has followed this programme year by year.
How It Works

Simple for parents. Powerful for athletes.

The programme is designed so that any parent, with no sports background, can run it at home with their child using nothing but a phone and basic outdoor space.

1
Start at the right book
Your child starts with the level for their age. A 9-year-old starts at Level 4. An 8-year-old at Level 3. No placement test. No barriers. Just open the level and begin Week 1.
2
Follow the weekly session
4 sessions per week, roughly 40–46 minutes each. Every exercise is written out in plain language with full setup instructions. Your child reads it, sets up the cones, starts the phone timer, and trains.
3
Record and sign each session
After every session the child signs the session card. The parent countersigns. This is how attendance is counted, how badges are validated, and how the habit is built. Two signatures. Every time.
4
Earn badges at Challenge Week
Week 12 of every season is Challenge Week. Four official badge tests, each with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers. The athlete tests, records, signs, and the parent countersigns. The badge is earned and recorded permanently.
The Badge System

128+ badges. A reason to keep going every single week.

Every badge is tied to a specific, measurable standard. There are no participation trophies. The badge is earned by hitting a real number — and children know exactly what that number is from Week 1 of the season.

🥉
Bronze
Entry level for age. Any child who has trained consistently can reach this.
🥈
Silver
Above average for this age group. Consistent focused training earns Silver.
🥇
Gold
Strong performance. The target standard for a well-trained child of this age.
💎
Platinum
Exceptional. Elite-level for the age group. Not many children reach this — it is real.

What Parents Say

Real results. Real children.

My son has been doing the programme since Level 1. He is now in Level 4 and his sprint time has dropped from 3.1 seconds to 2.3 seconds. His coach noticed he was faster before I even mentioned the programme.

What I love is that she does it herself. I don't have to motivate her — she motivates herself because of the badges. Challenge Week is the highlight of her month. She trains harder the week before without me asking.

I was sceptical that a 6-year-old could follow a structured programme. But the sessions are written for children — fun names, simple instructions, just the right length. He asks to do his sessions. That is not something I expected.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know

What age should my child start? +
The programme starts at age 6 (Level 1) and runs through to age 13 (Level 8). If your child is older and has not done the programme before, we recommend starting one or two books behind their age — build the foundation properly before the harder work. A 10-year-old new to the programme should start at Level 3 or 4.
Does my child need a coach or training partner? +
No. Every session in all 8 levels is designed for solo training. Sprint tests use a phone stopwatch, passing uses a wall target, agility drills use self-timing. Your child does not need another person to train. A parent or guardian countersigns the session card after each session — that is the only involvement required.
What equipment is needed? +
For Levels 1–5 (ages 6–10): a phone with a stopwatch app, 5–6 cones or markers (even stones work), and a flat outdoor or indoor space. For Levels 6–8 (ages 11–13): add a resistance band set (available at any sports store, around R150–R200) and access to a solid wall for passing practice.
How long does each session take? +
Sessions are 37–46 minutes depending on the level. Levels 1–4 (ages 6–9) run 37–40 minutes. Levels 5–8 (ages 10–13) run 42–46 minutes. Four sessions per week means roughly 3 hours of structured training per week — manageable alongside school and club rugby.
Can I use the programme with more than one child? +
Yes. Your R49 per month covers one child. Each child needs their own subscription. If you have two children in the programme, that is R98 per month total — each child has a completely separate account, level, benchmark history and badge record.
What happens after the 7-day free trial? +
After 7 days, your subscription moves to R49 per child per month. You will be notified before the trial ends. There is no lock-in period — cancel any time from your account settings. If you cancel, your access continues until the end of the billing period.
My child already plays club rugby. Will this conflict with that training? +
No — the programme is designed to complement club training, not replace it. Club training covers game skills and team tactics. RugbyForge builds the physical athlete underneath those game skills. The two work together. Many children who follow the programme find their club performance improves because the physical foundation is stronger.
